**Job Description:**

To receive, sort, process, route and distribute incoming and outgoing mail and to provide routine clericaland manual work in receiving, storing and issuing equipment, materials and other supplies. Expedites processes by making decisions for efficiency. Assists with any hand work mailings or special projects in Bulk Mail, assists with tagging and bagging mail in preparation for Post Office and in accordance with postal regulations.. Assist assigned personnel preparing and/or operating addressing/inserting equipment. Operates university vehicle when making pickups/deliveries on predetermined schedules and routes. Receives requisitions, checks for completeness and proper authorization. Prepares outgoing shipments by crating or packing, weighing, labeling and arranging for delivery.Performs related duties as assigned.WORKING CONDITIONS: Considerable time spent lifting, bending, stooping and standing. May work outside in all weather conditions. May work under pressures to meet deadlines and schedules.**----**

**Job Details:**

****General Notes****

Security sensitive; three-year driving record and criminal background checks conducted on selected candidate. Hiring decision is contingent upon applicant clearing background and driving record requirements.

****Responsibilities****

* To perform various manual tasks necessary for the receipt, collection, and distribution of materials and supplies. Prepares outgoing shipments by labeling and arranging for delivery.

* Work as a team member to collect, sort, and deliver incoming and outgoing materials and supplies to departments on and off campus. Receives requisitions, checks for completeness and proper authorization.

* Operates university vehicle when making pickups and deliveries on predetermined schedules and routes. Records vehicle mileage and reports all accidents and maintenance of vehicle (cleaning and repairs) to immediate supervisor or appropriate personnel.

* Performs related duties as assigned.

****Required Qualifications****

High school diploma or GED. Six months of work experience. Familiarity with office and postal equipment, stock handling and maintaining records. Demonstrated organization and time management skills, including the ability to minimize the workload of others. Ability to adapt to change and maintain flexibility. Demonstrated ability to receive direction, cooperate with supervisor, co-workers, and work independently.

****Preferred Qualifications****

One year of direct work experience with postal equipment, stock handling and maintaining records.

****Driving Required****

This job requires a class "C" operator's driver's license. The applicant selected must provide a current three year driving record from the current state of residence. If not currently a Texas resident, a Texas driver's license must be obtained within 30 days of becoming a Texas resident.

****Salary Range****

$31,200 + depending on qualifications
